Confession
Julie and I have been friends since 1997, when we met abroad in Costa Rica as volunteers. We’d both joined WorldTeach, a non-profit organization sponsored out of Cambridge. There was a group of 30 of us, and what an incredible group of humans it was (many still close to this day). Jules and I got tight fast. When I think about those many early memories with her - how much we laughed until we cried, it makes my heart explode. That program was only a year, but it wasn’t long before she caught up with me in Santiago, Chile. I’d followed my destiny (totes different, and extraordinary story), and she showed up for a project with the World Bank as part of her Masters’ program with Johns Hopkins. From there, life, kids, careers…and then career departures (wooohooo) to follow our own light, and our own paths, respectively. And wouldn’t ya know, we found each other again. Julie has always been a gift to me…a gift of light and laughter. It does not shock me in the least that she’s felt called to share her gifts. I’m humbled I get to be one of her biggest fans.
